SEND Teaching Assistant – Part‑time & Full‑time

About the role

We are recruiting Special Educational Needs (SEND) Teaching Assistants to support EYFS and primary school pupils with a variety of learning and development needs. The role can be undertaken on a full‑time or part‑time basis, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am‑4:00 pm, for the full academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to children with autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and behavioural needs (SEMH).
• Assist classroom teachers in delivering tailored activities and lesson plans.
• Monitor and record pupils’ progress and wellbeing.
• Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in youth, community or social care is desirable.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (support provided if needed).
• Two professional references covering the past two years.
• Caring, dedicated and professional attitude towards children with special educational needs.

Required skills

• Understanding of SEND principles (helpful but not mandatory).
• Ability to follow guidance from teachers and school leaders.
