SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary SEN School, Reading

About the role

This position is based in a specialist primary SEN school in Southcote, Reading, supporting pupils with Social, Mental and Health (SMH) needs and trauma‑related backgrounds. You will join a warm, inclusive environment where every day makes a real impact on children’s lives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group support for pupils with SMH and trauma histories.
• Help create and maintain a safe, consistent, and engaging learning environment.
• Build strong, positive relationships that enable children to thrive academically and emotionally.
• Assist pupils in regulating their behaviour and emotions to facilitate learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions.

Required skills
