SEND Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs Support

About the role

Reed Education is looking for dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs in schools across Sussex. You will work closely with teachers, parents and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for children with SEN in classroom and other settings.
• Assist teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
• Monitor student progress and report observations to senior staff.
• Collaborate with parents, specialists and external agencies to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in an educational setting.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, CACHE, a degree or equivalent in SEN support or education.
• Compassionate, patient and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learners.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork with teachers, parents and professionals.
