SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist Role in Bromley

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Bromley from September 2026. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, severe and profound learning difficulties, communication challenges, sensory needs, and challenging behaviour.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with complex SEND needs.
- Assist students with communication, emotional regulation, personal development and personal care where required.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and sensory interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver tailored learning programmes.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and achievements.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children or adults with complex needs, SEND, autism, learning disabilities or challenging behaviour.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to remain calm, patient and adaptable in a challenging environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service and right to work in the UK.
