SEND Tutor – 1:1 Specialist for Students

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking qualified SEND Tutors to deliver high‑quality one‑to‑one tuition for children and young people in Runcorn. This part‑time position allows you to make a tangible difference by supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 lessons tailored to each learner’s abilities, needs and objectives.
• Adapt teaching approaches for students facing anxiety, missed education or other barriers to learning.
• Monitor progress and adjust strategies to ensure continuous improvement.
• Maintain a supportive, patient and flexible learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable).
• Experience working with SEND or additional learning needs.
• Previous UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references related to work with children or young people.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
