About the role
The school is seeking a dedicated SENDCO to lead special educational needs provision for EYFS and KS1 pupils. You will shape inclusive practices, ensure targeted support from the start of each child's journey, and work closely with staff, families and external professionals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage SEND provision for EYFS and KS1
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and external specialists to design personalised interventions
- Monitor pupil progress and adapt strategies to achieve positive outcomes
- Provide coaching, CPD and guidance to staff on SEND and inclusion best practice
- Champion the school's inclusive ethos and contribute to strategic development of SEND provision
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS); applications from experienced SENDCOs and aspiring leaders (NASENCO candidates) are welcome
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEN, preferably in EYFS or KS1
- Strong organisational, leadership and communication abilities
- Commitment to inclusion, equity and pupil wellbeing
- Enthusiasm for staff development and sharing best practice
