Senior Account Handler – Commercial Insurance

About the role

We are partnering with a respected independent insurance broker in North Manchester to find an experienced Senior Account Handler. You will manage a portfolio of commercial and corporate clients, delivering expert advice and ensuring high‑quality service across complex mid‑market placements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage renewals, amendments and day‑to‑day servicing for larger commercial clients.
• Prepare and issue renewal reports, presentations and related documentation.
• Negotiate with insurers to secure competitive, bespoke terms.
• Support Account Executives in client meetings and strategic planning.
• Provide technical advice and mentorship to junior team members.
• Ensure all activities comply with FCA regulations and internal standards.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with clients and insurer partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Commercial or Corporate Account Handler.
• Strong technical knowledge of property, liability, fleet and combined‑risk insurance.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Confidence handling complex client requirements and placements.
• Team‑player with mentoring or leadership capability.
• Cert CII qualified or working towards qualification (Dip CII advantageous).
• Experience using Acturis or a similar broking system.
