Senior Account Handler/Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Account Handler to join our established commercial insurance team in Taunton. You will take ownership of a varied portfolio, driving renewals, day‑to‑day servicing and market negotiations while supporting less experienced colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial insurance renewals from initial review through to completion.
• Handle mid‑term adjustments, policy queries and routine client servicing.
• Liaise with insurers to obtain terms, negotiate outcomes and prepare renewal documentation.
• Produce reports and market presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support Account Executives with client retention and portfolio management.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation and compliance standards.
• Act as a senior point of contact within the team, providing guidance to junior staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Commercial Account Handler seeking a senior position.
• Strong understanding of general commercial insurance products and processes.
• Confident relationship‑builder with insurers and clients.
• Organised, technically capable and able to work independently.
