Senior Accountant – 6-Month Fixed Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to join a well‑established business in Salford. The role involves managing statutory accounts, monthly management reporting and supporting the audit process in a fast‑paced environment. Immediate start required.

Key responsibilities

• Support statutory accounts preparation and lead external audit processes.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts with variance analysis and forecasting.
• Develop and manage service charge budgets for existing properties and new developments.
• Review actual versus budgeted costs across service‑chargeable units and investigate variances.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for variable and fixed service charge properties.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Partner with budget holders and senior management to review performance and inform decisions.
• Provide financial analysis and modelling for business cases.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting.
• Prepare and submit regulatory returns accurately and on time.
• Deputise for the Finance Lead and contribute to senior‑level reporting.
• Mentor and develop colleagues to foster a collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
• Proven experience in management accounting and financial reporting within the UK.
• Experience supporting audits, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering.
• Full right to work in the UK and immediate availability.
• Previous exposure to the property or construction sector is advantageous.
