Senior Accountant (6-Month Fixed Term)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to join a well‑established business in Salford. The role will support statutory accounts, manage monthly management reporting and drive budgeting and forecasting activities within a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate the external audit process.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and forecasting.
• Develop and monitor service charge budgets for existing properties and new developments.
• Review actual versus budgeted costs, investigate variances and ensure regulatory compliance for service‑charge properties.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and business case modelling.
• Partner with budget holders and senior management to analyse performance and inform decision‑making.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting.
• Provide backup for the Finance Lead and contribute to senior‑level reporting.
• Mentor and develop junior finance colleagues.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Qualified by Experience (QBE) accountant.
• Relevant UK accounting experience, preferably within property or construction.
• Immediate availability and full right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Strong UK management accounting and financial reporting expertise.
• Experience with audit support, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering.
