Senior Accountant – Chartered Practice (Barnstaple)

About the role

We are a growing chartered accountancy practice in Barnstaple seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the hands‑on delivery of year‑end accounts, tax, VAT and broader accounting services for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Manage tax compliance and VAT returns for a mixed portfolio of SMEs and larger corporate clients.
• Produce management accounts and bookkeeping services as required.
• Support managers and partners with technical expertise and act as a key right‑hand resource.

Required profile

• AAT or ACCA qualification, or equivalent experience gained in a UK practice.
• Proven experience delivering full‑cycle accountancy services within an accountancy firm.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously at a senior level and support senior leadership.
