Senior Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a leading international professional services firm to hire a Senior Client Services Accountant. This permanent, hybrid role (three days in the Didcot office and two days remote) offers flexible start and finish times and a clear progression path working with top‑tier clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of up to four client accounts, serving as the primary contact for all accounting and financial matters.
• Prepare year‑end statutory accounts from initial records through to completion.
• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts and support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies, review bookkeeping, supplier invoices and payment activity.
• Prepare FCA regulatory returns and VAT returns, ensuring accurate submissions.
• Support compliance with HMRC and Companies House filing requirements.
• Lead and develop two Client Services Accountants, overseeing their workload and professional growth.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice, client accounting or industry finance.
• Hands‑on experience preparing statutory and management accounts from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle and budgeting/forecasting processes.
• Excellent client relationship, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage direct reports and meet client deadlines.
• Newly or nearly qualified (ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
