Senior Accountant

About the role

We are a growing independent accountancy firm based in Preston, seeking an ACA‑qualified Senior Practice Accountant. You will work with a diverse portfolio of businesses and charities, delivering high‑quality accounts, audit, and tax services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review annual accounts for businesses and charities of varying sizes.
• Lead audit assignments and review the work of junior auditors and semi‑seniors.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for growing clients.
• Prepare complex VAT returns across a range of VAT schemes.
• Produce corporation tax and income tax computations and returns.
• Manage, train and provide constructive feedback to junior team members.

Required profile

• ACA qualified or holding an equivalent professional accountancy qualification.
• At least three years' experience within an accountancy practice.
• Experience across audit, accounts and tax.

Required skills

• Annual accounts preparation and review.
• Audit leadership and supervision.
• Management accounts preparation (monthly/quarterly).
• Complex VAT return preparation.
• Corporation tax and income tax computation.
• Team management and training.
