Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, a leading South West accountancy practice, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Taunton on a full‑time permanent basis. The role offers a clear path for career progression within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an independent portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality accounting and advisory services.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and ensure tax compliance work is completed accurately and on time.
• Provide commercial advice and financial guidance to help clients make informed decisions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships and generate new business.
• Support the development and mentoring of junior team members.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and practice growth.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with solid experience in an accountancy practice.
• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio independently.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts, tax and client advisory services.
• Excellent communication, networking and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, commercially minded and eager to develop a long‑term career in accountancy.
