Senior Accountant (Leeds)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join a well‑known business in Leeds. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key part in producing accurate financial information and supporting business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Partner with various functions across the wider business to provide financial insight.
• Review and approve balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Handle local compliance work, including statutory accounts, VAT and tax periodic returns.
• Respond to ad‑hoc queries and perform required analysis, prioritising workload effectively.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and ensure compliance with Group policies and internal controls.
• Identify process gaps and propose continuous improvement measures.

Required profile

• Finalist or newly qualified accountant (e.g., ACA/ACCA).
• Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
