Senior Accountant – London (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a well‑established accountancy practice in London. You will manage a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, develop technical expertise and mentor junior colleagues while delivering high‑quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Review and prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Oversee bookkeeping assignments and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and management accounts.
• Assist with budgets, cash‑flow forecasting and financial reporting.
• Prepare corporation tax computations, including deferred tax and P11D submissions.
• Support clients on business advisory projects, investigations and ad‑hoc financial analysis.
• Review commercial contracts and agreements when required.
• Provide guidance and constructive feedback to junior team members.
• Build strong relationships with clients as a trusted point of contact.
• Collaborate with colleagues across audit, tax, payroll and business services.
• Manage multiple assignments, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards and identify business risks.
• Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives.
• Continue personal professional development and foster a positive team culture.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• 3–5 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounts preparation, VAT and corporation tax.
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• Good understanding of bookkeeping principles.
• Confidence using Xero and/or QuickBooks.
• Strong Excel skills.
