Senior Accountant – Redhill, Full‑Time

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing, forward‑thinking accountancy practice in Redhill, Surrey. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will manage a diverse client portfolio while mentoring junior staff in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 clients across multiple sectors.
• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Produce management accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax returns.
• Serve as the primary day‑to‑day contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and resolving queries promptly.
• Coach, mentor and support junior team members, reviewing their work where required.
• Ensure billing targets are met and maintain accurate client records and timesheets in CCH.
• Deliver client work within agreed deadlines and service standards.
• Identify new business opportunities and stay up‑to‑date with accounting regulations and software developments.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CGMA or CIMA qualification (fully or part‑qualified).
• 2–5 years’ experience within an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing client relationships and handling a varied workload.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including accounts preparation, VAT and corporation tax.
• Previous experience coaching or mentoring junior staff.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and communication skills.
