Senior Accounts Assistant – Part‑Time (3 days/week)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant to join a well‑established business in Basildon on a part‑time basis. Working three days a week, you will support the finance team by preparing management accounts, assisting with month‑end and year‑end processes, and acting as a liaison for audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial information for audits and liaise with auditors.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and process transactions.
• Handle accruals, pre‑payments and journal entries.
• Provide ad‑hoc finance and administrative support as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Management Accountant.
• Exposure to management accounts preparation.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and reconciliation abilities.
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently.
