Senior Accounts Assistant (Shipping)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant to join our small finance team in London’s St James’s area. The role provides hands‑on responsibility for the financial side of international vessel operations, working closely with senior stakeholders and offering a clear path to professional qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier and vessel invoices, manage payments and perform reconciliations.
• Support and lead elements of the monthly funding cycle and cash‑flow tracking.
• Maintain accuracy across accounting systems and produce Excel‑based management reports.
• Engage with global shipping activities, often outside standard UK business hours.

Required profile

• Experience in accounts payable or a similar finance function.
• Exposure to multi‑currency transactions or international payments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Willingness to pursue an accountancy qualification with company support.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for reporting and reconciliations.
