Senior Accounts Manager – Accounting Practice

About the role

We are supporting a growing independent accountancy practice in Leatherhead that serves owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and individuals. The Partners are seeking a Senior Accounts Manager to lead client delivery and help drive the firm’s growth, with a clear progression path to Director or Partner.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for new client enquiries, managing onboarding and early relationships.
• Own a portfolio of existing clients, ensuring a consistently high level of service.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 102 and FRS 105).
• Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns.
• Review work prepared by junior and semi‑senior staff, providing guidance and mentoring.
• Advise clients on day‑to‑day accounting and tax matters.
• Collaborate with Partners to support strategic development and future growth of the practice.
• Identify business opportunities and contribute to the firm’s expansion.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Currently working in an accountancy practice at Senior Manager or Associate Director level.
• Confident in client‑facing commercial advice.
• Comfortable reviewing work and mentoring junior staff.
• Personable, professional communication style.
• Keen to build long‑term client relationships.
• Based in Leatherhead or the surrounding area.

Required skills

• UK GAAP (FRS 102, FRS 105) for statutory accounts.
• Corporation tax computations and returns.
• Statutory accounts preparation.
