Senior Accounts Manager

About the role

The Senior Accounts Manager will join a growing independent accountancy practice in the Leatherhead/East Horsley area. Reporting directly to the Partners, you will manage a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and SMEs, providing high‑level advisory and technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for new client enquiries and oversee the onboarding process.
• Own and develop relationships with a varied portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and SME clients.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts under UK GAAP, including FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns.
• Review work produced by junior and semi‑senior team members, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and technical support to colleagues.
• Advise clients on day‑to‑day accounting, tax and commercial matters.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and contribute to the firm’s strategic development.

Required profile

• Experienced professional working within an accountancy practice.
• Enjoys client‑facing work and building long‑term relationships.
• Demonstrates leadership and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Required skills

• UK GAAP (FRS 102, FRS 105) knowledge.
• Statutory accounts preparation and review.
• Corporation tax computation and filing.
• Account review and quality assurance.
• Mentoring and technical support for junior accountants.
