Senior Accounts Payable Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Manager to lead a high‑performing AP function in a fast‑moving, high‑volume environment. This permanent role will be pivotal in shaping a modern operating model during a large‑scale transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable process and drive operational excellence.
• Manage and develop a team of eight, handling performance, capability building and succession planning.
• Transform and standardise AP processes, systems and controls.
• Ensure accurate, timely processing of invoices and credit notes, delivering high‑quality service to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Own the expense policy, approval frameworks, spend limits and compliance oversight.
• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end AP activities and reporting.
• Maintain AP KPIs and SLAs, using data to drive continuous improvement.
• Act as escalation point for AP queries and build relationships across Finance, Procurement and operations.
• Partner with senior Finance leadership to develop and execute the AP strategy.
• Support finance transformation projects, system upgrades and broader Finance Operations initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong leadership experience within an Accounts Payable environment.
• Proven ability to lead teams through change and build future capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with influence at all levels.
• Highly organised, proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
• Deep understanding of financial controls, audit and compliance requirements.
