Senior Acoustic Consultant – Environmental Noise

About the role

An established multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Environmental Noise Consultant to join its growing Acoustics team in Leeds. You will lead and deliver a broad range of environmental noise, vibration and building acoustics projects from proposal to completion, working with public and private sector clients across the UK and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver environmental noise, vibration and building acoustics assessments.
• Undertake site surveys and analyse acoustic data using industry‑standard software and equipment.
• Produce high‑quality technical reports and develop practical mitigation solutions.
• Manage project budgets, programmes and resource allocation.
• Lead complex projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Support business development through proposal and tender preparation.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Provide technical mentoring to junior team members and ensure compliance with quality, health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Acoustics, Physics, Audio Technology or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in environmental noise and vibration consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of UK legislation, policy and best‑practice guidance relating to acoustics.
• Excellent technical report writing and project management skills.
• Commercial awareness and experience managing client relationships.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (or willingness to work towards it).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
