Senior AI Security Engineer – Remote (UK)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior AI Security Engineer to help define how artificial intelligence transforms cyber security within a fast‑growing technology business. The role is fully remote within the UK and offers outstanding flexibility and a competitive salary up to £120,000.

Key responsibilities

• Explore how AI and large language models (LLMs) can improve application security and software delivery.
• Build and refine AI‑powered solutions that replace or enhance off‑the‑shelf security tools where appropriate.
• Evaluate AI‑assisted development platforms such as Cursor to assess productivity gains.
• Integrate AI into security workflows to reduce manual effort, improve developer experience and shorten time‑to‑fix.
• Work with SAST, DAST and other application security tooling to improve detection, prioritisation and remediation.
• Test AI models for strengths, weaknesses, attack surface and reliability before recommending adoption.
• Help shape secure AI best practices across development teams and CI/CD pipelines.
• Write scripts and lightweight tooling to make developers’ lives easier while enhancing security outcomes.
• Identify gaps where AI is not yet ready and position the organisation for future adoption.

Required profile

• Experience in offensive security or penetration testing.
• Background in application security, product security or security engineering.
• Knowledge of AI security and DevSecOps practices.
• Familiarity with modern SDLC and secure software development.
• Some coding experience; full‑time software engineering not required.
