Senior Algo Trading Software Engineer (VP level)

About the role

Citi’s Equities Technology organization is seeking a senior software engineer at VP level to design, develop and deliver the next‑generation low‑latency execution platform that powers algorithmic trading across global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑performance, low‑latency electronic execution systems, including algorithmic trading, smart order routing, dark‑pool and internalisation engines.
• Collaborate closely with traders, quantitative researchers, product owners, infrastructure and QA teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
• Enhance testing frameworks, development tools and CI/CD pipelines to ensure platform reliability and scalability.
• Leverage AI‑powered tools to improve the software development lifecycle and execution performance.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience building low‑latency, high‑throughput systems in a financial services environment.
• Strong ability to work cross‑functionally with diverse technical and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and alignment with global delivery strategies.
