Senior Analyst – BI & Analytics Developer

About the role

The Senior Analyst will lead the design and delivery of data and analytics solutions for Cafcass' Private Law Reform programme, a pivotal transformation of the Family Justice System in England. You will build robust data architecture, scalable reporting, and high‑quality analytical products that directly support decision‑making and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain end‑to‑end data solutions from ingestion to reporting.
• Develop and optimise SQL‑based data pipelines and transformations.
• Lead the creation of Power BI dashboards, data models (DAX) and performance tuning.
• Apply advanced Excel techniques for modelling and analytical validation.
• Integrate and model data from multiple systems while ensuring governance, documentation and quality.
• Automate and scale reporting products for the programme.
• Identify trends, risks and variations through technical analysis.
• Provide technical leadership and assurance on solution design.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a data analyst, BI developer or similar technical role.
• Strong background in data architecture, data modelling and reporting development.
• Proven ability to translate complex operational requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
• Experience with modern data platforms (cloud‑based warehousing, Microsoft Fabric or equivalents).
• Awareness of AI and automation tools within Microsoft environments (Copilot, Power Platform, AI Builder).
