Senior Architect – Residential Development

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Architect to join a respected residential property developer’s in‑house team in Cornwall. The role will involve leading design and delivery of a varied portfolio of residential schemes, from thoughtfully planned housing to luxury bespoke homes, working across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and coordination of residential developments from concept through to completion.
• Prepare high‑quality design concepts, planning drawings and presentation material.
• Manage projects through concept design, planning approval and technical delivery.
• Coordinate external consultants and ensure timely, accurate information flow.
• Review technical documentation for compliance with Building Regulations and planning requirements.
• Provide architectural input during construction, answering queries and resolving design issues.
• Attend project meetings as the primary architectural contact.

Required profile

• Qualified architect with current ARB registration.
• Proven experience delivering residential developments in the UK.
• Strong design ability and solid understanding of residential construction and detailing.
• Experience managing projects through planning, design development and technical delivery.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning legislation and construction practices.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants and managing project information.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience using Archicad (advantage).
• Competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
