Senior Associate – Employment (Hybrid)

About the role

A leading national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Employment team in Birmingham. The role offers a mix of contentious and non‑contentious work, supporting a diverse portfolio of employer clients across sectors such as technology, retail, finance, logistics, mobility and higher education.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a broad range of employment matters, including tribunal claims, workplace investigations, restructures, redundancies and discrimination cases.
• Advise on whistleblowing, senior exits, contractual issues and the employment aspects of corporate transactions.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, contributing to business development and team growth initiatives.
• Mentor junior lawyers and support the development of the Employment team.

Required profile

• 5+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in employment law.
• Proven ability to handle both contentious and non‑contentious matters independently.
• Excellent client communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong technical drafting ability and commercial awareness.
• Collaborative, proactive approach and interest in mentoring junior staff.
