Senior Associate / Legal Director – Leasehold Enfranchisement

About the role

Birketts LLP is seeking a Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its national leasehold enfranchisement practice. You will work across both non‑contentious and contentious leasehold matters while supporting the residential property team on complex transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on all aspects of leasehold enfranchisement, including negotiations, valuations and statutory processes.
• Handle both non‑contentious and contentious elements of enfranchisement cases.
• Support the residential property team on transactions such as disposal of blocks of flats, review of new lease grants, and sales/purchases involving leasehold benefits.
• Collaborate with corporate and tax specialists to deliver a seamless end‑to‑end service.
• Manage client relationships and supervise junior fee‑earners and assistants.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in leasehold enfranchisement and residential real estate.
• Demonstrated ability to handle both contentious and non‑contentious work at a senior associate or director level.
• Willingness to work on a national basis across the firm’s offices.
• Strong analytical and client‑advisory skills.
