Senior Associate – Professional Indemnity (Birmingham)

About the role

The Professional Indemnity team in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Associate with at least five years of post‑qualification experience. This role offers the chance to work on complex claims across a range of professional sectors and to help shape the culture and direction of a growing team.

Key responsibilities

• Handling day‑to‑day claims management, including reviewing documents, preparing reports and liaising with insureds and insurers.
• Conducting investigations, reviewing evidence and instructing counsel or experts where required.
• Drafting pleadings, attending conferences, trials, disciplinary hearings and court appointments.
• Ensuring compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct and relevant service standards.
• Supporting the development and supervision of junior team members and contributing to business‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Previous experience in defendant insurance and professional indemnity matters.
• Proven ability to manage and develop junior colleagues.
