Senior Associate – Professional Indemnity Solicitor

About the role

We are partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a Senior Associate for its Professional & Commercial Risk team in Leeds. The role offers intellectually challenging professional indemnity work within a flexible, collaborative environment and provides exposure to a diverse client base across the insurance sector.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of professional negligence claims for major insurers and insured professionals.
• Handle the full spectrum of matters, from policy coverage advice to complex, litigated negligence claims.
• Provide strategic, commercial and technical advice to insurer clients.
• Support partners on high‑value and complex claims and supervise junior fee earners.
• Instruct and work closely with experts and counsel.
• Engage in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with approximately 5+ years PQE in professional indemnity or related insurance litigation.
• Strong technical expertise and proven experience managing complex claims.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships and mentor junior colleagues.

Required skills

• Professional indemnity law and insurance litigation.
• Case management of pre‑action and litigated matters.
• Alternative dispute resolution techniques, including mediation.
