Senior Audit Accountant – Chester (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established accountancy practice in Chester to recruit an Audit Senior. The role is hands‑on, offering responsibility for audit engagements from planning through to completion, while providing mentorship to junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning stage to final delivery.
• Prepare and review audit work‑papers and financial statements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during audit engagements.
• Supervise, coach and review the work of junior team members.
• Identify, communicate and resolve audit issues in a professional manner.
• Ensure timely delivery of audit work in line with firm standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.

Required profile

• Previous experience in audit within an accountancy practice.
• Part‑qualified or fully qualified ACA / ACCA (or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading audits and supervising junior staff.
• Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with a client‑focused approach.
• Well‑organised and able to manage multiple deadlines.
