Senior Audit Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Audit Manager to join a top‑20 accountancy practice in North London. The role is split 50% commercial audit and 50% accounts, overseeing audit engagements for corporate PLCs and private equity‑backed businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit and accounting clients with turnovers up to £150 million, including AIM‑listed and private groups.
• Lead and review complex UK and international audit engagements, coordinating open and close meetings with clients.
• Supervise qualified audit staff on major client sites, ensuring audit objectives are met and files are completed on time.
• Develop new business by maintaining existing relationships and targeting new audit clients in the London region.
• Review internal audit practices, identify efficiency improvements and support compliance procedures such as quality control and anti‑money‑laundering reviews.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA, ICAS or ACCA accountant.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing large audit portfolios, preferably from a Top 100 or well‑regarded regional firm.
• Proven experience with UK GAAP and FRS 102 across a range of commercial sectors.
• Strong commercial awareness and ambition to progress towards partnership.
