Senior Audit Manager

About the role

We are seeking an inspirational Senior Audit Manager to join our independent firm in Newcastle. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will help drive growth, manage a diverse client portfolio and ensure high‑quality audit delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support Audit Partners and collaborate with senior leadership.
• Lead, manage, mentor and support the audit team.
• Oversee budgets, fees and work‑in‑progress.
• Drive recruitment and growth of the audit practice.
• Develop client relationships, grow business and win new work.
• Review audit work, resolve staff and client issues.
• Prioritise quality client service daily.
• Lead internal projects on regulation updates, staff training and technology.

Required profile

• Extensive senior audit experience in practice or an external role, managing audits from planning to completion.
• ACA, ACCA qualified or equivalent, with ambition to attain RI status.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UKGAAP.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word, and experience with audit software.
• Experience in transactional support and financial due diligence.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a calm, solutions‑oriented approach.
