Senior Auditor – South Wales

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to lead engagements for a well‑established accountancy practice serving clients across South Wales and surrounding regions. You will manage audits from planning through sign‑off, mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with UK accounting and auditing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex audits, including contract accounting, acquisitions, disposals and restructuring.
• Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing technical guidance and timely feedback.
• Review financial statements and assess internal controls for compliance with UK standards.
• Manage audit budgets, workflow and client deadlines, proactively addressing overruns.
• Identify opportunities to improve audit efficiency and quality while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in an accountancy practice, preferably leading complex audits.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards, IFRS and ISA 600.
• Excellent client communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
