About the role
Join a leading major offshore wind farm developer as a Senior Authorised Person (AP) 66kV. In this critical role, you will be the primary authority responsible for electrical safety and compliance, ensuring the integrity of high-voltage operations across both offshore and onshore assets.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure all electrical operations comply with national legislation and regulatory standards.
- Delegate technical tasks to the transmission specialist team across offshore and onshore sites.
- Manage rotas and scheduling for all site transmission specialists and operators.
- Lead the continuous improvement of site-specific electrical instructions and operational procedures.
- Implement client electrical safety rules, including the Safe System of Work (SSoW).
- Provide operational expertise for WTG, offshore substations, and HV subsea/land cables.
- Supervise the safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations, and MV/HV/LV equipment.
- Monitor all MV/HV/LV operational activities to guarantee network safety and integrity.
- Coordinate and communicate proactively with all stakeholders to ensure process efficiency.
- Plan and delegate switching activities and control safety documentation.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in electrical operations and commissioning within the High Voltage (HV) sector.
- Proven track record in managing substation systems (onshore/offshore).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage specialist teams and complex rotas.
- Offshore experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work within strict safety frameworks and regulatory environments.
Required Skills & Certifications
- Appropriate electrical qualifications with a verified authorization history.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in onshore substation systems.
- Valid GWO (Global Wind Organisation) training.
- HUET with CA-EBS certification (as required by site).
- Expertise in MV/HV/LV electrical safety and switching procedures.
- Knowledge of local electrical standards and regulations.
