Senior Autism Practitioner (Team Leader)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced social‑care supervisor to lead a compassionate team delivering person‑centred support for autistic adults. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will coach Autism Practitioners, collaborate with multidisciplinary partners, and champion independent living.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and empower a team of Autism Practitioners to maintain exceptional care standards.
• Oversee outcome‑based support plans, ensure robust digital record‑keeping and uphold safeguarding standards.
• Partner with families, external agencies and health professionals to continuously adapt support strategies.
• Participate in recruitment and ensure compliance with SSSC Codes of Practice and Care Inspectorate guidelines.
• Share responsibility for the on‑call rota and work flexibly across shift patterns, including evenings and weekends.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory or management experience within social care, with direct experience supporting autistic individuals.
• SVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care and Leadership & Management for Care Services (or willingness to achieve with 100 % employer funding).
• Valid full UK driving licence (essential).
• Active SSSC registration (or eligible within 3 months) and PVG scheme membership.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
