Senior AV/IT Engineer (Teaching and Events)

About the role

The Senior AV/IT Engineer will join the Campus IT team at Lancaster University, providing second‑line support for audio‑visual and IT services in teaching spaces, event venues and conference facilities. You will help deliver key university events and support the upgrade, refurbishment and installation of technical solutions across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Provide second‑line troubleshooting and maintenance for AV and IT equipment in teaching and event environments.
• Set up and support audio, video collaboration and presentation technologies for lectures, seminars and large events.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues, external suppliers and contractors to commission new installations and upgrades.
• Maintain documentation of incidents, configurations and service procedures.
• Manage inventory of AV/IT assets and ensure compliance with university standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience working in a team‑based IT service environment.
• Hands‑on experience with PC hardware and AV systems.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a user‑focused approach.
• Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
