Senior Backend Developer

About the role

This senior position is part of a globally distributed engineering team building advanced digital finance and blockchain‑powered solutions. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services that power financial platforms used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for financial platforms.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical architecture.
• Improve existing Node.js services for reliability, scalability and performance.
• Build new integrations with distributed and microservice‑based systems using RPC calls.
• Write and optimise complex queries for relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Drive platform scalability initiatives to ensure real‑time responsiveness.
• Apply security best practices to protect infrastructure, transactions and user data.
• Participate in Agile processes, code reviews, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Support backend infrastructure components such as messaging, caching and job queues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with JavaScript and Node.js backend development.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems design.
• Experience with large‑scale platforms, high‑availability systems and scalability optimisation.
• Proficiency with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of backend security concepts and secure API development.
