Senior Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Back‑End Engineer to help build next‑generation AI‑driven systems that automate complex workflows for global manufacturing, procurement and supply‑chain customers. The role is hybrid, based in London, and works closely with a founding engineer (ex‑Meta) and CTO (ex‑OpenAI).

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain production‑grade back‑end services in Python.
• Build large‑scale data processing pipelines, integrations and distributed systems.
• Implement GraphQL and REST APIs, and work with event streaming via Kafka.
• Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and AWS.
• Collaborate directly with customers to translate ambiguous problems into production‑ready solutions.
• Take ownership of features from concept through to delivery and monitoring.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience building production systems with Python.
• Proven track record with large‑scale data processing, integrations or distributed architectures.
• Comfortable turning vague requirements into concrete, reliable solutions.
• Enjoys direct customer interaction and rapid problem‑solving.
• Motivated to work on AI‑native products without needing prior AI expertise.
• Prefers high ownership and accountability over rigid processes.
