Senior BI Developer

About the role

As part of AJ Bell’s expanding data and analytics function, we are looking for a Senior BI Developer to join our direct‑to‑consumer team in Manchester. You will be responsible for turning raw data into actionable insights that support marketing, reporting and strategic decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define data product and reporting requirements.
• Work with data engineers and integration specialists to build data pipelines, ETL processes and robust data models.
• Design, develop and maintain engaging Power BI dashboards, including enterprise‑level semantic models and user permissions.
• Own and continuously improve data models, KPI definitions and ensure consistency across the organisation.
• Support analysts and researchers by providing reliable data for their initiatives.
• Implement and follow rigorous data delivery processes covering testing, monitoring, documentation and issue resolution.
• Promote data literacy by ensuring dashboards are understood and adopted.
• Contribute to the company’s data strategy and governance framework.

Required profile

• Mid‑to‑senior level experience in data engineering, data architecture design and business intelligence.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with cross‑functional teams.
• Track record of delivering production‑grade reporting solutions.
