Senior BIM / 3D CAD Technician – Water & Infrastructure

About the role

This senior position leads digital design delivery for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK. You will own BIM standards, mentor a team of technicians, and ensure high‑quality 3D models are produced on time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high‑quality 3D models and BIM processes across multiple projects.
• Manage and mentor a team of BIM/CAD technicians, providing technical guidance.
• Define, implement and maintain BIM standards, workflows and best practices.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary models (civil, mechanical, electrical, process) and manage clash detection.
• Review and approve BIM models and technical drawings for quality and compliance.
• Control design data, documentation and versioning throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and project teams to meet digital deliverable deadlines.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in digital engineering.

Required profile

• 10+ years of BIM and CAD experience, preferably in the UK water or infrastructure sector.
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience of BIM/CAD teams.
• Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Desirable: degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field; BIM Management certification; knowledge of BIM Level 2/3 and cloud‑based collaboration tools; experience on large‑scale or international projects.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Revit.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Advanced proficiency with Navisworks.
• Expertise in BIM coordination and clash detection.
