Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

Our client, a leading healthcare provider experiencing rapid growth, is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join a small finance team on a full‑time basis. You will be responsible for delivering accurate financial information to senior management and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports.
• Produce management accounts and perform bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Handle accruals, pre‑payments, journal postings and VAT returns.
• Monitor cash flow and maintain fixed‑asset registers.
• Assist with year‑end accounts and support the Managing Director with financial reporting.

Required profile

• AAT Level 4, ICB Level 4, or part‑qualified ACCA/CIMA (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounts, preferably within an SME environment.
• Proven ability to produce management accounts and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong Excel proficiency.
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or QuickBooks.
