Senior Building Surveyor – Construction Consultancy

About the role

We are a London‑based construction consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our growing team. You will lead projects across healthcare, emergency services, local government and education, delivering end‑to‑end solutions while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Contract Administrator and Employer's Agent on assigned schemes
• Lead projects from initial design through to completion
• Prepare tender documentation and advise on procurement strategies
• Conduct condition surveys, measured surveys and site inspections
• Produce technical reports and advise on building defects
• Deliver professional services such as Party Wall, acquisition surveys and dilapidations
• Provide guidance on Planning, Building Control and Listed Building Consent
• Support and mentor junior surveyors
• Maintain client relationships and identify new business opportunities

Required profile

• MRICS qualification or working towards chartership
• RICS‑accredited degree or equivalent
• Experience in a construction consultancy environment
• Strong knowledge of building defects, CDM and construction health and safety
• Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships
• Commercial mindset with interest in fee management and bids
