Senior Building Surveyor

About the role

Take ownership of a high‑quality UK portfolio, delivering refurbishment and development projects from scope to completion and driving asset value and performance. The role offers real breadth, visibility and impact, with exposure to large‑scale, high‑profile schemes from day one, including CAT A refurbishments up to £10 million.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of refurbishment, repair and development projects across the portfolio, from inception to handover.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and cash‑flows, ensuring alignment with business plans and timelines.
• Oversee contract administration, including instructions, variations, approvals, certificates and project records.
• Prepare and manage design, tender and contract documentation, and supervise procurement and contractor appointment.
• Ensure all statutory requirements – planning, Building Control, CDM and Party Wall – are in place before works commence.
• Provide technical and commercial advice on refurbishment, defects and asset decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong building surveying experience within commercial property.
• Proven track record in project delivery, contract administration and cost control.
• Ability to manage consultants, contractors and external advisers and hold them to account.
• Excellent documentation and record‑keeping discipline.
• Commercial judgement, ownership mindset and clear communication.
