Senior Business Development Manager – Advanced Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead the attraction of high‑value inward investment for advanced manufacturing in the West Midlands. You will work with the West Midlands Growth Company to promote the region as a premier destination for manufacturing growth and deliver measurable economic impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute investment strategies across key advanced manufacturing sub‑sectors.
• Translate regional strengths into compelling value propositions for domestic and international investors.
• Identify, engage and secure high‑value investment opportunities using market insight, economic trends and sector intelligence.
• Generate leads, manage a pipeline of inward‑investment projects and deliver outcomes such as job creation and capital investment.
• Maintain and grow relationships with strategic manufacturing businesses to support retention, expansion and long‑term growth.
• Build and nurture networks with industry intermediaries, trade bodies, consultants and government agencies.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in business development or investment attraction, preferably within manufacturing or related sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence decision‑makers.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of advanced manufacturing dynamics.
• Track record of delivering measurable investment outcomes, including job creation and capital deployment.
