Senior Business Development Manager – Banking

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join a leading global law firm’s Banking & Financial Services practice. Reporting to senior partners, you will shape and deliver business development strategies that deepen client relationships, raise the firm’s market profile and drive sustainable growth across multiple practice areas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the firm’s growth objectives.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities and drive client development initiatives.
• Lead strategic pitches, panel appointments and major pursuit activities.
• Deliver integrated marketing campaigns, thought‑leadership pieces and profile‑raising events.
• Oversee client programmes, strategic account planning and cross‑selling initiatives.
• Manage legal directory submissions, awards entries, events and market positioning.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing business development team, fostering collaboration and best practice.

Required profile

• Significant business development experience within legal or professional services.
• Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders on strategic growth initiatives.
• Experience leading teams and managing complex business development programmes.
• Strong commercial awareness, project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Collaborative, proactive leader with excellent communication and results‑driven approach.
