Senior Business Development Manager - Defence

About the role

The Senior Business Development Manager will join a fast‑growing AI and Machine Learning company operating in the defence, security and intelligence sectors. Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership, you will drive the identification, development and closure of new commercial opportunities across UK defence and allied markets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and close new commercial opportunities across UK defence and related markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the MOD, defence primes, industry partners and key decision‑makers.
• Develop a robust sales pipeline and convert opportunities into commercial contracts.
• Use sector knowledge to spot future opportunities, understand customer needs and monitor competitor activity.
• Establish new routes to market and engage senior stakeholders and defence influencers.
• Raise the company’s profile through networking, events, meetings and strategic introductions.
• Develop collaborations with UK and international defence partners.
• Work closely with the CEO and senior management to refine business development and sales strategy.

Required profile

• Proven senior business development experience within the UK defence sector.
• Demonstrated ability to build and nurture relationships with high‑level defence and government stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of defence procurement processes and market dynamics.
• Strategic mindset with a hands‑on approach to driving revenue growth.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
