Senior Business Development Manager

About the role

The Senior Business Development Manager will join the Debt & Capital Markets practice of a leading international law firm. Working within a high‑performing BD & Marketing team on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract, the role is based in London and focuses on driving revenue growth, strengthening client relationships and enhancing the firm’s market positioning across EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through market and client research.
• Lead and contribute to the creation of compelling pitches, proposals and credentials material.
• Maintain and enhance BD content such as deal lists, biographies and case studies.
• Support client relationship mapping and strategic account development.
• Drive thought‑leadership initiatives, rankings submissions and profile‑raising activities.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver integrated BD campaigns.
• Track, analyse and report on BD performance and pipeline activity.
• Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience in legal or professional‑services business development, preferably within capital markets or finance.
• Strong research, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Track record of delivering high‑quality pitch and client materials.
• Good understanding of BD strategy, tools and best practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
