Senior Buyer – Information Technology

About the role

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead its Information Technology procurement function. You will work within a defence‑technology environment, managing a diverse portfolio of IT spend and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support procurement activities across IT categories such as software, SaaS, hardware, networks, cyber security, AI and related services.
• Manage end‑to‑end sourcing, including supplier engagement, negotiation, contract placement and performance monitoring.
• Own large‑scale procurement projects in collaboration with Category Managers and key internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and international suppliers across the UK and Europe.
• Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies to deliver cost savings and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and governance.
• Travel internationally as required for supplier and stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IT procurement or indirect spend with a strong interest in technology.
• Demonstrated ability to manage procurement processes and supplier relationships in a complex environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of operating internationally.
• Experience delivering sourcing activities and supporting procurement strategy execution.
• Proactive, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• MCIPS qualification or working towards it (desirable).
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK and meet security clearance requirements.
